Announcing our Finalists for Young Chef Young Waiter Hong Kong 2023!

For the very first time in Hong Kong, we are announcing our chef and waiter finalists for the international culinary competition, Young Chef Young Waiter! After an astounding number of applicants for chefs and waiters aged 28 and under, we have whittled down our talents to four chef finalists and four waiter finalists to compete in the Hong Kong competition on October 18th, 2023.
The chefs competing this October are Ardy Ferguson from Belon, Alyssa Mae Grospe from Mr. Wolf, Angus Wong from Amber, and Michelle Lai, private chef from GoodNotes.
The waiters in the running this year are Donika Thapa and Sadikshya Limbu from Mr & Mrs Fox, Micah Corpuz from Censu, and Teddy Tso from The Ritz Carlton.
Taking place at More Good (venue sponsored by Nordaq), the winning chef and waiter at the Hong Kong finals will get sent to compete at the World Finals in Monaco this November 23rd-24th for a chance to win $10,000 (US).
The competition aims to gather the local F&B community together, to support and encourage each other to continue growing and pushing our industry forward with this new generation of trailblazers. This mission is backed by our outstanding line-up of judges and ambassadors: Shane Osborn, Richard Ekkebus, Lindsay Jang, Yenn Wong, Caleb Ng, Kristina Snaith-Lense, Chili Ma, Jason Cohen, Gavin Yeung, Jen Balisi, and Danny Zigal.
Originally established in 1979 in the UK in partnership with UKHospitality and the UK Restaurant Association, YCYW promotes hospitality as a career of choice, a profession, and a vocation. The competition launched internationally in 2022, bringing together the best of the best from all around the globe to the World Finals in Monaco.
